After my short introduction posted here, it feels like the perfect time to post a wrap up, on a couple of the most memorable bitcoin predictions for 2018. Here goes.
We are about to close 2018 and just like the previous years, there has been no shortage of bitcoin predictions throughout the year. We have seen a plethora of bitcoin forecasts from short term to long term, million dollar price tags to those who believe it will go to zero.
Opinions about bitcoin and its fair value are fragmented, to say the least. There are people who despise it and cannot wait for it to go to zero, while others praise it, anxiously waiting for a new bull run towards a value of a million dollars or more.
One thing almost all these fortunetellers have in common is that whatever advice they share, it should not be considered financial advice.
bitcoin prediction 2018
With only some 40 hours to go, before we close this calendar year, let’s take a look at some of the most memorable bitcoin forecasts.
Arthur Hayes from BitMEX
He predicted that bitcoin would reach $50,000 by the end of 2018. He initially made this call back in May 2018. See the video below for more details.
Founder and CEO of Galaxy Digital said bitcoin could easily reach $40,000 by the end of 2018. Michael made this call back in November 2017. Read more about that here.
from Saxo Bank said back in January 2018, that bitcoin could hit $100,000 in 2018. You can read more about that here.
CEO & managing partner of Quinlan & Associates is currently one of the most accurate predictions on this list. He said bitcoin would be around the $1,800 in December 2018. This call was made back in January 2018. While this isn’t spot on (yet), it’s certainly closer than the above-mentioned predictions.
Posted on January 2018, Peter Boockvar, the Chief Investment Officer at Bleakley Advisory Group said he would not be surprised to see btc come back down to the $1,000 to $3,000 range over the next year.
Tom Lee from Fundstrat called for bitcoin to reach $25,000 by the end of 2018. This was posted back in January 2018.
Trace Meyer suggested back in January 2018, that bitcoin could reach a value of $115,000 in December 2018 (while also noting that btc at that point would be overvalued).
Current #Bitcoin run very similar to Jan-Mar 2013 run ($7->$266->$90; $700-$20k->$9k) with backlogged new accounts, etc. then Silk Road catalyst (salable supply shock) for $100->$1,200. Mountain of #WallStreet money lining up. What are potential 2018 $BTC scenarios? @ToneVays? 😎 pic.twitter.com/PqrinsGSFz— Trace Mayer [Jan/3➞₿🔑∎] (@TraceMayer) January 17, 2018
On May 4th 2018, Max Kiser tweeted that bitcoin had tested a bottom of $6,000 and was not on its way back to reach a new ATH and noted $28,000 is *still* in play on this rally.
There are lots of other predictions than the ones listed above. Bankers, brokers, hedge fund managers, YouTubers, bloggers and lot of other people all had their say about the price on bitcoin. We have seen predictions for 2018, new predictions made in 2018, and now lots of new predictions for 2019 and the years after that. I will continue to list all of the ones I stumble upon here.
For 2018 the ones above are definitely some of the most mentioned ones.
